Stratasys is currently seeking a Senior Commodity Manager - Direct to join our Eden Prairie Operations department.  This department works in the sourcing and procurement of direct materials for the Operations & R&D departments.  This this role you will be responsible for development and supplier sourcing to provide materials and components for current and future product manufacturing.  You will be recognized as a strategic sourcing professional who will continually align a “best-in-class” supply base to meet current and future cost, quality, technology and service needs.  Responsible for all aspects of procurement, working in a team environment ensure that we achieve synergy and leverage by aligning short and long-term commodity strategies. Other duties will include:

  • Qualifying suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive
  • Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
  • Work with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trend assessment, pricing and product availability.


As a part of Stratasys, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. 



  • Bachelor’s degree – Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Supply Chain or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, purchasing or planning at a manufacturing company in an ERP environment
  • 2+ years of experience in a global environment



  • Six Sigma Training
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP software
  • Project Management
