Location:  Valencia, CA

Responsible for driving and meeting quality, on-time delivery, and margin targets to facilitate the department’s growth plan.  The Production Supervisor also reports root cause/failure analysis to the engineering department and attends cross-functional team meetings. Also has the responsibility for reviewing, managing, and distributing the daily workload for all projects that come through the finishing department, as well as managing all finishers in the post-processing prototype sub-department.  


Supervision of Staff

  • Supervise daily operations of the Finishing department.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities and provide input for performance reviews and disciplinary action, and recruiting, with special regard to the following areas: fairness, attendance; accident or injury prevention; turnover; employee relations.
  • Understanding of all job-specific techniques and team-building skills to complete jobs in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to instruct Finishers, Painters, and Material Stripping in department-specific techniques, tips, and tricks.
  • Monitor and direct the workload balance of the department by prioritizing work for Leads based on delivery dates.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining qualified staff. As well as addressing low-performance-related activities in a timely manner.  


Knowledge of systems, processes, and collaboration

  • Support achievement of the department revenue, growth, and profitability goals.
  • Control cost by optimizing productivity, process improvements, and automation.
  • Work with Project Engineering and/or customers to discuss customer applications and requirements to be able to suggest and collaborate on post-processing requirements.
  • Assist Project Engineering team with quoting activities
  • Read and understand technical drawings and CAD files for assisting in identifying complex part requirements.


Quality/Compliance responsibility

  • Create and control best practices documentation regarding part preparation to minimize scrap and to produce the highest quality end-use parts.
  • May work with Quality and/or Project Engineering in order to successfully re-build non-conforming parts.
  • Optimize quality while maintaining on-time delivery and satisfying customer requirements.
  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable Quality Management Systems.
  • May assist in projecting headcount requirements for the department and manage staffing in accordance with departmental business plans.




  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ combined experience in manufacturing operations. 
  • 2 yrs+ Experience with SolidView/Solidworks.



  • 1-2 years of experience managing employees
  • 1-2 years of experience managing production work
