Facilities and Equipment Technician

The Facilities & Equipment Technician will oversee the upkeep of the facility and performance and maintenance of large production machinery. Performs maintenance on assigned equipment on the production floor.  In this role, you will be responsible to perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance on assigned systems & materials on the production floor.  To determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. 


Facilities Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing preventative and ongoing maintenance for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability environments to ensure operational efficiency and maximum facility uptime
  • Regularly inspects and monitors equipment and responds to irregular or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations that may be detrimental to the facility’s operations and coordinates with other critical facilities professionals to perform corrective repairs
  • May maintain multiple components including HVAC systems, air or liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, power distribution units, fire systems, etc. 
  • Monitors equipment and responds to irregular conditions.
  • Performing “handyman” maintenance duties, exterior cleanup, spot painting and/or cleaning, simple to moderate electric projects, airline repair, small to medium hand tool repair and work station, furniture and other moves, etc.
  • Obtain quotes for repairs that need to be outsourced and manages projects through to completion.
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Respond to Upkeep program requests for facilities maintenance issues
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Equipment Technician Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on all facility additive machines according to assigned schedule.
  • Notify Operations Manager of machines needing repair or more extensive maintenance.
  • Monitor any outside vendors on site for repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
  • Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
  • Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
  • Record and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
  • Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be Export Control Compliant (ITAR) ☒ Yes ☐No
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Knowledge of Digital Voltmeter and Hand Tools required 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift Certified a Plus,
  • CMMS Computer maintenance Management System a Plus.
