The Sr. Quality Technician supports Manufacturing and Engineering by inspecting and testing materials, in-process products, finished goods, and returns. This role ensures compliance with specifications and standards, records and analyzes results, and reports findings. The technician assists with investigations of non-compliant results and recommends corrective actions. Additionally, they act as a technical expert on equipment operation, support maintenance and calibration, and mentor or cross-train team members as needed.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Perform functional, visual inspection and testing per customer requirements and demonstrate capability. Ability to read and interpret specifications and requirements and some understanding of how to identify appropriate measurement or assessment techniques
  • Initiate and close inspection records of test results and data in a detail-oriented manner that is easily interpreted and communicated. Record, report and escalate deviations from existing standards and make recommendations when able
  • Prioritize across multiple areas, make recommendations on adjustments, escalate promptly. Able to support “interim Lead” activities when needed
  • "Subject matter expert" of one or more areas of inspection and testing; Able to train others in most areas; Troubleshoot and support root cause analysis for testing and instrumental issues
  • Provide data and records required to support investigation and disposition
  • Make recommendations for and support continuous improvement activities to benefit our internal and external customers (including management of the work within the quality control group)
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to review in-process production activities and processes by confirming specifications, completeness and accuracy of records and in-process verifications
  • Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and methods; Examples: Variability, Control, Repeatability & Reliability, process deviation
  • Responsible for working in compliance with all Quality Management Systems
  • Understand Lab and Quality-related metrics and measures and what constitutes good vs bad and how these are influenced
  • Assist in developing and documenting methods and procedures for quality assurance and control
  • Understanding of Certificates of Compliance (COC) and analysis (COA) and the data that is used to generate them as well as answer basic questions that come from other parts of the business
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Attend all required company training
  • Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the department or manager

 

 Must have for this role:

  • Associate’s degree (concentration in science, engineering, computer science, quality, or manufacturing is strongly preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
  • 1-2 years of inspection experience in a production environment operating inspection and testing equipment and recording & reporting results    
  • Understanding of data analysis concepts
  • Ability to work independently with initial guidance and direction
  • Demonstrate depth of knowledge of operating test equipment, interpreting results and trouble-shooting in one more application. Examples: Melt Flow Index (MFI), Differential Scanning Calorimepiy(DSC), CMM, GD&T, Roamer Arm/PCDMIS, various dimensional inspection tools.

 

Nice to have:

  • Testing certifications
  • Experience working with an ERP
  • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified
  • Chemical analysis or electronics background/knowledge

 

 

Travel required: 10% domestic

For this position, the typical annual starting base salary is from $56,647 to $71,747, which does not include variable incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. Your individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, geographical location, and/or experiences.
