Stratasys Direct Manufacturing (SDM) is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Inspector to support quality inspections throughout the entire production process, from raw materials to finished products. This role ensures compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and purchase orders, and helps train other inspectors. The Senior Inspector also oversees all aspects of one or more high-level customer programs.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Perform incoming inspection and testing as required by the Work Instructions and PO’s with in-depth understand of quality requirements, specification and purchase orders
  • Perform in-process inspection and testing as required by the Work Instructions and drawings, including high requirement and production parts
  • Perform final inspection and testing as required by the Work Instructions and drawings
  • Advanced understanding of GD&T and use of portable CMM. (FARO, Romer, etc.)
  • Perform inspection and document in compliance with AS9102
  • Create NCR’s and ensure dispositions are completed in a timely manner
  • Managing all quality functions of at least one high level customer program, including but not limited to source inspection, portal use, spec compliance and scheduling
  • Enforce company quality standards with special regard to customer satisfaction; product accuracy and appearance; and on time deliveries
  • Assist manufacturing departments in implementing quality systems such as: ISO 9001 and AS9100 internal and external monitoring; continuous process improvement; employee training
  • Assist with training inspectors on the use of tools, equipment, quality requirements and customer requirements
  • Assist in maintaining Quality Records resulting from inspection/test
  • Participate in 5 “S” activities as assigned
  • Assist in MRB activities
  • Assist in all DPD activities
  • Assist in quoting of inspection work
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values
  • Other Responsibilities as assigned by the department or manager

 

Must have for this role:

As a part of Stratasys, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. 

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of inspection experience
  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools
  • Experience in using advanced inspection tools
  • Able to read and understand Blueprint/Engineering drawings, work orders and other job-related documents
  • Proficiency in AS9102 FAIR
  • Proficiency in GD&T
  • Computer proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office and SPC software
  • Excellent personal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Program Polyworks or equivalent software

 

Nice to have:

  • Five or more years of experience in the inspection field
  • Previous experience working in an ISO AS 9001 organization
  • Advance GD&T Training
  • Net-Inspect portal experience and proficiency
  • Inspection planning software experience and proficiency

For this position, the typical base hourly pay is from $21 to $26, which does not include variable incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. Your individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, geographical location, and/or experiences.
