The Sr. Reliability Engineer will perform technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes that have significant impact on the company.  The role takes lead on evaluating and assuring reliability performance of Stratasys products. This role proactively and independently creates reliability plans, develops reliability tests, analyzes reliability data, participates in reliability issue resolutions, and communicates reliability results in cross functional product development team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Plans and executes reliability programs during and after product development.

  • Support the development of product requirements related to reliability and maintainability. Ensure alignment between R&D and product management teams.
  • Generate reliability plans according to product complexity and project / system requirements.
  • Define best approaches to meet reliability goals for different New Product Development (NPD) projects. This includes definition of standard reliability tracking and monitoring tools.
  • Plan for reliability and durability tests, analyze the test data with appropriate tools such as Weibull++, and provide reliability improvement suggestions based on the test results.
  • Provide statistical analysis with reliability dataset and project reliability projections.
  • Drive for reliability issue resolutions and lead reliability events such as DFMEA, FTA.
  • Track and analyze reliability data after product release on the field.

 

Drives improvements in reliability work process.

  • Continuously maintain and improve reliability process as part of ISO requirement.
  • Develop new techniques and approaches when needed to accelerate reliability evaluation.
  • Participate in reliability engineering, professional organizations and other informal networks to foster new learning and identification of best practices related to reliability and maintainability.
  • Build reliability database / library for Stratasys product lines by working with Design, Operations and Service organizations.

 

 

Provides high quality, clear documentation and communicates effectively

  • Analyze reliability data and clearly communicates reliability results, issues, and status.
  • Document how reliability testing is performed and how the data is collected.
  • Write concise reliability reports according to reliability plan and project requests. 
  • Consistently follows procedures for documentation that meet ISO requirements.
  • Be able to clearly present work results with other engineering functions, product managers, and customer service group etc.
  • Regularly review reliability related work processes and communicate any update.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or related discipline with a minimum 5+ or related experience; or 3+ years of experience with an advance degree or PhD without experience or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years engineering experience
  • 3+ years reliability engineering experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience using 3D printers or complex machines.
  • Experience with reliability tools for reliability growth analysis (RGA), Weibull++, ALTA, DFMEA, or other reliability / Statistics software.
  • Product reliability experience in new product development and sustaining engineering.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time.
