Stratasys is currently seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer at one of our facilities in Eden Prairie, MN.  In this role you will be designing, developing and modifying processes and methods for the manufacturing, molding, and utilization of metallic, plastic, composite, and other materials in construction of production hardware, electronic components and structures. You will determine design approaches and parameters, analyze materials and material components to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate results. You will select materials for inclusion in products based on analysis of specifications and reliability. This will be in support of both new and existing processes and process/development/improvement activities. Primary focus will be on the improvement of existing extrusion and systems processes. Additional duties will include: 

  • Partner with R&D in production on assigned product lines to implement cost reduction efforts that innovate product design and production process to reduce costs while improving product quality and value 

  • Work with cross-functional teams within the plant to develop accurate specifications and documentation to support new product introductions 

  • Through process of continuous improvement through leadership in DAMIC problem solving 

  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, productivity, process efficiency and customer satisfaction 

  • Foster good communication and teamwork within plant environment to meet and execute schedules 

As a part of Stratasys, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.  



  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering or similar 

  • 5+ years manufacturing or production environment with complex hardware and software based technology 

  • Experience with mathematical concepts such as probability a statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry skills 



  • Knowledge of extrusion process or plastics processing a plus 

  • Proven track record in the application and use of LEAN/Six Sigma tools 

  • Ability to use Solidworks and/or CAD software for fixture design and to develop new floor layouts 

  • Experience with equipment set up, production floor, hands on experience
