Stratasys is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment. You'll be responsible for supporting corporate safety initiatives, identifying and mitigating risks, and driving environmental compliance. As the local EHS representative, you'll lead training efforts, provide valuable input on environmental and facilities needs, and serve as the go-to expert for shipping-related safety matters. 

 

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as a resource for site safety committee(s) and partner with safety champions to evaluate their recommendations for improvements
  • Responsible for providing technical expertise, tasking, training, and oversight, which includes emergency management drills and exercises to test organizations’ systems and response capabilities
  • Ensure facilities are operating in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and requirements as codified in state and federal OSHA regulations or otherwise referenced (typically through a site audit, gap analysis, and closure process).
  • Assist assigned facilities with implementation of action items resulting from incident investigations
  • Champion initiatives that identify and communicate facility risk exposures prioritize risk reduction needs, and drive closure of recommendations to reduce the identified risks.
  • Consistently evaluate the site’s EHS process and programs to improve to achieve world-class performance
  • Maintain plant safety by guiding management and safety committees to successful implementation of safety programs to protect employees against harm and maintain a safe working environment
  • Assist process experts in developing job safety analyses to ensure safe work environments according to EHS standards
  • Trained on shipping Dangerous Goods (DG) by Land, Air, and Sea
    • IATA, IMDG, and DOT hazmat regulations
    • Completing the Dangerous Goods (DG) declarations form
    • Overpacking and labeling/marking requirements for hazmat
    • Navigate through an SDS to find the information needed
  • Respond to government agency correspondences and requests professionally, respectfully, and expeditious manner
  • Reinforce compliance with all company and government safety policies, SDS, procedures, and regulations
  • Develop routine regulatory reports required by the various environmental permits and conduct required activities to maintain the licenses
  • Assist in the completion of routine and non-routine industrial hygiene testing in recommended or required areas
  • Oversee internal building administrative support with the onsite facility team and numerous outside suppliers in delivering services to the SSYS space.
  • Provide general overall facility services, including continuous monitoring of office/facility/equipment
  • Act as an interface with clients, visitors, and guests
  • OSHA 10-Hour Training required
  • OSHA 30-Hour Training (recommended)

Must have for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Health, Industrial Science, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of EHS experience and one year in an EHS auditing role
  • Proficient experience in leading EHS programs, and improved performance at individual site locations and across a company
  • Experience working with management and data collection systems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new strategic initiatives
  • Ability to work in a matrixed, team-oriented environment
  • Proficient experience in the implementation of several of the occupational health components within an EHS program (JSA, hearing conservation, hazard communication, RPE, PPE, bloodborne pathogens, laboratory safety, IAQ, and air sampling)

 

Nice to have:

  • Trained on shipping Dangerous Goods (DG) by Land, Air, and Sea
  • In-depth understanding of the Environmental, Health, and Safety area, policies, laws, procedures CMMS/Work order Management
  • Previous experience implementing policies and procedures that are protective of the environment, personnel, equipment, and business interests, including the leading of culture change required to embrace those policy and procedure changes
  • Intermediate computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and internet search engine
