Desktop Support Technician

This position is responsible to provide End-User on-site support to resolve incidents and requests which includes but is not limited to build, install, troubleshoot and repair of End User devices (IT Personal computers and related IT systems), as well as, support Office applications. This position will also participate in End-User related Infrastructure and Security Projects, be responsible to test plans/scripts, develop training plans and on-boarding documentation, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure a high level of Customer Satisfaction at assigned site.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Operational Management

  • Deployment of End User Equipment and Office Applications to Users
  • Deployment and operation of management tools to support End User devices (enable automation, implement upgrades and patching of existing equipment and produce reports)
  • Asset Management of assigned and unassigned End User Devices
  • Utilize ServiceNow to manage User incidents and requests and document details regarding problem troubleshooting and/or resolution
  • Prioritize work and schedule day to meet the needs of the business
  • Escalate and collaborate with appropriate department to resolve issues

 

Technical Support

  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve incidents independently utilizing diagnostics and appropriate tools
  • Requires physical on-site support including face to face interaction with Users
  • Requires detailed documentation on the status of a ticket
  • Ability to manage End Point protection (patching, User access/authorization, Antivirus etc.)
  • Work closely with the Information Security team in supporting deployment of secure solutions and contribute to the Technology Roadmap.
  • Execute Incident, Change, and Root cause ITIL processes. 
  • Create, maintain and update PC Images using SCCM technology
  • Manage and support Microsoft Active Directory, Office365, SharePoint Services, e-mail, Enterprise Collaboration and other company-wide systems
  • Ability to handle a wide range of IT responsibilities and special projects as required
  • Perform/participate in root cause analysis when required

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Technical or 2 years of experience in lieu of education degree
  • 4+ years of experience in a Help Desk level 2 support role,
    • Responsible for troubleshooting and Application support.
  • 4+ years experience with software security, databases, and internet.
  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft SCCM deploying desktop OS’s applications and patches in an enterprise desktop environment, server administration, desktop technologies, scripting languages, mobile devices, desktop images development and strategies, Active Directory, Office365, Group Policy Management, Okta, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite Applications
  • 3+ years experience of ITIL frame works for Service Delivery and service support processes.
  • 3+ years Prior experience in Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1, 10, mobile operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, and the Office suite.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience of networking, including TCP/IP, firewall configuration, LAN & WAN technologies, and remote access technologies including VPN clients.
  • Previous ServiceNow experience a plus
  • General knowledge of business telephone system functionality
  • Experience with End-Point protection a plus
