Applications Engineer (Polymer Powder Bed Fusion)

The Commercial Applications Engineer (Polymer Powder Bed Fusion) will be responsible to provide advanced technical knowledge and assistance to the Stratasys commercial team. Focusing on executing both pre-sales and post-sales, consulting with prospects, producing benchmarks samples and providing solutions to customer needs.

 

Be a champion and advocate to internal and external customers. Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to the commercial sales teams, by working with prospective customers and channel partners. Project management and Coordination of Beta and NPI activities as well as training/mentoring reseller applications experts. Complete understanding of the competitive landscape. Able to expand use case applications working closely with the Product and marketing teams.

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical application liaison between customer and product development teams
  • Serve as a project leader for the expansion of Powder Bed Fusion applications for customers, prospects, product managers
  • Be an advocate, champion and industry leader in Powder Bed Fusion
  • Understand and articulate the competitive landscape for Powder Bed Fusion
  • Coordinate and Project Manage Powder Bed Fusion Betas and NPI activities
  • Provide technical demonstrations to partners, prospects, customers or investors of all software and hardware products
  • Support Marketing in Stratasys tradeshows

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience with Polymer Powder Bed Fusion
  • 3+ years of experience working in/with a design or manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience CAD/CAM software applications, including Materialise solutions, and/or Additive Manufacturing industry experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ Years Additive Manufacturing experience 
  • Good verbal and written communications skills and the ability to resolve technical issues
  • Project leadership and project management skills
  • Experience in Pre-sales sales training to sales teams and creativity and willingness to gain an advanced understanding of Additive Manufacturing applications
  • Experience with design, prototyping and manufacturing process requirements, performing time and work sequence studies, and recommending adjustments to manufacturing operations, developing standard operations conducting various time and cost studies 
  • Experience supporting complex electro-mechanical equipment
  • Experience in Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Injection Molding, and Low-Cost/Fast-Turn Injection Molding industries
  • Experience in the medical device, and component industry

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: up to 50%, (varies in product cycle)
