Senior Compliance Engineer (MakerBot)

MakerBot is looking for a talented Compliance Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This is your chance to be a part of a fun, fast-paced and driven team working with MakerBot to produce industry leading 3D printers, materials and accessories.

 

As a Senior Compliance Engineer you will: 
●    Ensuring the company's technical compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations both locally and internationally
●    Achieve product compliance by developing and executing compliance programs, completing documentation and following through with the applicable regulatory bodies
●    Researches and identifies applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards for all products and materials
●    Organizes compliance programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources, including test laboratories and equipment.
●    Interface with outside agencies, so that the products can be formally tested and certified to meet designated requirements
●    Work with UL or other NRTL’s to obtain certifications and compliance
●    Documents compliance by completing approval applications, recording test results, preparing investigative reports, preparing, and maintaining compliance databases to track all products compliance from inception to end of life
●    Producing and sharing reports on compliance testing, developments, and processes.
●    Stay abreast of all upcoming changes to Product Safety, EMC and Radio Compliance regulations and standards to ensure the organization is meeting all current requirements for new and legacy products. Assess product regulations and standards impact of all market entries (e.g.,  US, Canada, EU, China, S.Korea, etc).
●    Instituting best-practice procedures for compliance and risk mitigation
●    Communicate effectively with  various business operations to gather information, communicate requirements and escalate as needed to ensure compliance
●    Develops and evaluates new compliance methodologies
●    Reviews factory procedures to ensure NRTL compliance

 

Minimum Qualifications:
●    5-10 years' experience working as a compliance engineer
●    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications:
●    Working knowledge of UL/ TUV/other NRTL. CE Declarations: LVD; IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 and  60950-1, Machinery Directive; IEC/EN/UL60204, ISO12100 and EMC EN61000 series, FCC and Radio standards.  Knowledge of UL2904 Emissions standard a bonus
●    Familiarity with supply chain and product environmental regulations and standards such as EU RoHS, REACH and WEEE directives and US TSCA and Conflict Minerals requirements 
●    Experience with material compliance and authoring SDS’s.Demonstrated understanding of product development life cycles, schedules, risk analysis and compliance requirements
●    Experience working with electrical and electro-mechanical products
●    Skilled in business operations and project management
●    Proficiency in report writing, analysis,  compliance procedures and presentations
●    The ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing
●    Solid technical knowledge and understanding of product/process design
●    Excellent problem-solving and people skills  are essential

 

Extra experience counts too! Professional experience with 3D printing or MakerBot is a significant plus.
