Procurement Manager (MakerBot)

MakerBot is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Operations Team. An ideal candidate will effectively manage the company’s supply of products and services. Responsibilities include strategizing to achieve cost-effective solutions for production sourcing, finding and vetting new suppliers and negotiating contracts.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and lead the procurement and sourcing activities to ensure production uptime
  • Oversee and maintain a strategic sourcing program, i.e. contract pricing, negotiations, competitive cost of goods, forecasts, and compliance with all quality standards
  • Lead the development and implementation of global & local purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality and service for all categories
  • Research, select, develop and maintain adequate sources of supply to ensure that the product requirements are met with the optimum quality, service, and cost to use
  • Proactively intervene to expedite product and supply issues
  • Obtain competitive bids, and award contracts on the basis of greatest profitability to the company commensurate with quality standards and delivery capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain positive productive relations with all suppliers and internal groups
  • Manage all direct and indirect purchasing
  • Develop and improve processes to improve efficiency of procurement and sourcing activities. 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA in Business/Finance/Economics/Operations
  • Requires a strong working knowledge of Strategic Purchasing with 5+ years experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP (preferably Oracle NetSuite) and/or automated purchasing system
  • Experience working with large manufacturing companies utilizing strategic sourcing methods to reduce costs
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Experience in the preparation of proposals and the development of contracts
  • Working knowledge of inventory planning and forecasting techniques preferred
  • Lean, Six Sigma, TQM experience is a plus
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • CPSM and/or APICs certification or other Purchasing/Material Management certification 
  • Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating company needs
  • Experience at C-level presentations including securing buy-ins within a cross-functional executive team
  • Extensive experience developing RFPs for the bidding process by an agency/supplier for needed services/commodities
