IT Manager (MakerBot)

The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for overseeing all internal technical aspects of the MakerBot, as well as hosting operations. This leader will direct employees within various departments to attain the company’s strategic goals.

 

As IT Manager you will:

  • Direct and prioritize the day to day activities of internal infrastructure/hosting, monitoring. Manage the day to day operation of the help desk. As required, performs hands-on technical system administration.
  • In conjunction with other MakerBot service owners, define technology solutions required to meet business needs presented by the company and clients.
  • Develop technology roadmap and oversee project management for IT projects.
  • Maintain security of all data, implement disaster recovery and backup procedures for all internal computer systems, and test to ensure reliability in case of a system failure or disaster.
  • Complete periodic assessments of existing internal technology infrastructure and applications for capacity planning, performance improvements, upgrade requirements and hardware/software replacement.
  • Ensure appropriate use of technologies to support business requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee planning, purchasing, implementation, maintenance of internal infrastructure, computer related hardware and all software throughout the organization. Recommend changes as necessary in order to align with business strategy and ensure efficient processes and operations.
  • Interface, collaborate and align with the broader Global Technology team and the Director of DevOps
  • Work with Legal and various departments to develop policies and procedures.
  • You will manage all of our voice systems for office phones, support phone lines and sales phone lines.
  • Manage other Team members on the IT Team

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or related experience
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience within Information Technology in a production environment (we run VMware, and a mixed laptop fleet of Macs and Windows PCs).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with application performance monitoring, capacity planning, and incident management strategies.
  • Empathetic with internal customers and passionate about clearing their roadblocks.
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of all aspects of technology operations, including business requirement analysis and design, systems and database development, systems operations and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and within a short time frame. Able to adapt quickly to changing situations or user needs.
  • You have the ability to think outside of the box and adapt to various situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both a technical and non-technical audience. Ability to interface with all levels of users, management & executive leadership.
