Stratasys is looking for a Finisher that will produce end quality prototype models ensuring they meet company standards using a variety of hand tools.
The Finisher I is responsible for post-processing 3D printed parts, including support removal, sanding, media blasting, and polishing to achieve desired aesthetics and functionality. Additional duties include part counting, quality inspection, and following work orders and instructions. Strict adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized workspace is required.
What you will be doing:
- For powder bed fusion technologies, extract parts from the machine build through part break out, removing support structures and materials
- Performs basic operations using equipment such as a tumbler, bead blaster, or water works station. May do hands on powder handling such as sieving and cleaning
- Self-inspects parts/components coming out of the build, with strong attention to detail
- Accurately read and record information (i. e. material manufacture date, serial number, and other criteria) that is critical to the manufacturing process
- Demonstrates understanding of build ID’s and work order
- Completes and properly signs off on all paperwork and computer work for each job
- Performs basic finishing techniques for prototype models and production parts, using hand tools such as drills, sanders
- In some locations, may compare physical parts with 3D CAD data for quality inspection
- May inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Maintains traceability of all parts, completing and signing off on all paperwork in a timely manner for each job
- Follows all applicable standard operating procedures for department and ISO, ITAR, and aerospace requirements as applicable to the job
- Responsible for compliance with Quality Management System
- Adheres to relevant work instruction
- Observes and identifies faulty parts based on work orders
- Follows established production workflow for part traceability
- Addresses problems with parts and production with Lead/Supervisor
- Perform housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned tasks. Actively participate in housekeeping efforts by maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe work area
- Completes and signs off on all paperwork and computer work properly for each job
- Strictly adheres to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Attend all required company training
- Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the department or manager
Must have for this role:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Basic Computer experience (Microsoft Office and email)
- Experience working with hands (Fine Motor Skills)
- Good mechanical aptitude and craftsmanship
- Ability to work well independently and with a partner(s)
- Must be available to work on weekends and some overtime
Nice to have:
- 1+ years of experience manufacturing end-use parts
- Experience with hand tools such as sander and drill, or assembly experience
- Experience with precise measurement equipment
- Exposure to reading blueprints
