What we need:

Stratasys (RPS in the UK) are seeking a Current Product Engineer to join the Stereolithography Engineering team based in Aylesbury, UK.  This exciting role will contribute to the design, development, and production of current products.  This role is ideally suited to an organised, proactive, and self-motivated individual with a systematic approach to engineering.  It will provide a diverse, stimulating, and unique opportunity for the right candidate.

 

In this role:

As a member of the Engineering team, as the Current Product Engineer you will be responsible for the engineering processes of existing products in the market and in production.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Increase quality, reliability, and serviceability by designing improvements for existing products
  • Responsible for conducting product ECO process
  • Management of product documentation and BOMs
  • Optimize and manage design changes for contract manufacturing and full turnkey
  • Support the Production line on an on-going basis including managing escalations
  • Serve as technical link between Operations, Customer Support and R&D
  • Support current product revitalizations and improvements
  • Coordinate and participate with local and abroad R&D teams on design for manufacturability and implementation of existing products in the production line
  • Monitor and interact with R&D project managers, system engineers and designers to optimise design for Operations needs
  • Lead cost savings through hardware redesigns
  • Field POC for current product support
  • Manage EOL and 2nd source activities
  • Develop, manage, and conduct FAI processes for new assemblies
  • Design new jigs and fixtures for current products

 

Must have for this role:

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant discipline, plus minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in mechanical design / production environment, or equivalent industry experience.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining & weldments
  • Experience in material selection, tolerancing and surface finishes
  • Good understanding of design for manufacturability and knowledge of manufacturing technologies
  • Experience in producing detailed drawings for manufacture
  • Inquisitive and natural desire to learn
  • Holistic approach to problem solving
  • Capability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies
  • High attention to detail

Experience (preferred):

  • Design or Production Engineering of 3D printing or high-end industrial equipment
  • Experience in CAD software – SolidWorks an advantage
  • Experience in PDM / PLM tools, Agile and advantage.
  • Electrical knowledge would be beneficial
  • Experience in Stereolithography, DLP, other photopolymer 3D Printing technologies
  • Active interest in polymer 3D printing

 

Travel required: 5%. No essential travel but there may be opportunities to visit sites etc
