The Automation Engineer is responsible for developing Test & Automation solutions on assigned projects for assembling, testing, calibrating, mistake-proofing, or analyzing new or existing products.  Applications will typically be deployed in internal R&D and Manufacturing as well as occasionally at external suppliers.  This individual will also collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians and specialists and be associated with the development of standardized and reusable solutions throughout the company

 

What you will be doing:

  • Develop Test & Automation applications and fixtures for use in various internal departments
  • Provides technical leadership in the resolution of test and test fixture yields
  • Provides statistical data analysis reports assisting with the resolution of process or product defects
  • Regularly utilizes SolidWorks to design and build 3D printed parts that are used in test and assembly fixtures
  • Understand and aptitude to grow in C++ code development and MS SQL database administration capability
  • Create test execution and analysis application software
  • Develops test plans and concepts for subassembly and circuit board functional acceptance testing.  Actively communicates plans to R&D and Manufacturing for approval
  • Collaborates with R&D engineers in the development of product specifications and actively seeks to provide test solutions throughout the product development process

 

Must have for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Computer Engineering or Technology
  • 2+ years of applicable experience
  • 3+ years minimum direct applicable software application experience in:
    • C++
    • MS Windows and Office
    • MS SQL Server databases
    • SolidWorks
    • Web or cloud-based application

 

Nice to have:

  • Focus is on test fixture development with an emphasis on subassemblies and circuit boards.  Candidate should also have a solid background in mistake-proofing (Poka Yoke) solutions and the common components they require.
